Women Build

You want to make a difference. You've heard of Habitat for Humanity before and working on a build sounds like fun... but you're not sure if you have the right skills.  Maybe you've never wielded a power tool, but you're thinking that it might be fun to try. Anyone can contribute at any skill level.

If women all over the country have built homes for families in need - so can you!

With your help, Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Willamette Valley will begin a successful Women Build themed home in 2009.  But so much needs to be done before we can begin building.  If intersted in supporting this build, contact the office and join the Women Build committee.
How can I help?

Give. It may sound obvious, but a house cannot be built without sponsorship. Be sure to specifiy that your gift is for the Women Build.

Help. Whether you pound nails, put up drywall, or paint a bathroom, the time you give will help make the house possible. Starting in April, we'll be needing volunteers for our AM and PM shifts on Saturdays. Volunteering information available here.

Organize. Bring your friends, family or co-workers might to join you! We're seeking groups of 8-10 people to commit to one shift - or several. For more information, click here.

Have a question we haven't answered? Send us an email and we'll be happy to answer it for you.

"I like the joy that women share in making something tangible that a family will enjoy. I've done one Women Build and a 'Women Build Day' at the Oregon State Fair. When I think back on them, I think of laughter." - Shannon

"I like that I can come out, learn a new skill and come away knowing that I've made a difference in some family's life. I can learn something new every time I come out." - Jeanne

"The best part for me is working as a team both with people I know and people I've never met. When we're done with a shift, you can really see a difference. It's amazing what a dedicated group can do - it always brings tears to my eyes." - Jennifer
