Volunteer Web Content & Social Media Manager

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management and regular refreshment of Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Willamette Valley's website- in close collaboration with the Marketing Coordinator with an active focus on a) helping develop the website as an effective and dynamic marketing tool for broadening, deepening, and diversifying engagement in Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Willamette Valley by helping update online content (i.e. online event calendar, build information, etc.) and b) strengthening our social media voice through a thoughtful marketing plan.
  • Develop strategies for social media that include a) social media monitoring and metrics reports on activity on the Habitat for Humanity website; b) strategies and tactics for improving website performance; c) plans for expanding Habitat for Humanity's web presence;
  • Implement regular, strategically targeted social media that highlight programs, events, Habitat for Humanity news, etc;
  • Keep the website current through a) monitoring and entering calendar updates with an online system, including editing, writing, gathering/confirming information, adding photos and posters, etc. ; b) regular content updates and verification;
  • Design, management, and evaluation of social networking communications, groups, and viral marketing activities (employing such resources as Facebook, YouTube, and Flickr and such tactics as social bookmarking and blogging); communication with members of such networks using bulletin boards; and monitoring and maintaining a presence on appropriate social networking sites.
Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop and desktop publishing; familiarity with emerging web 2. 0 technologies
  • Knowledge of social networking and supporting social media.
  • Creative, and analytical thinking, with a proven track record of seeing projects through to completion with positive results.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment where timing is key
  • Capability of working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly detail oriented and organized.
